The new MBC Friday-Saturday drama “Wonderful World,” which has been drawing attention for its new work by actress Kim Nam-joo, has finally featured the first meeting of its two main characters, Kim Nam-joo and Cha Eun-woo.

Spoiler Alert

In the episode of “Wonderful World” that aired on the night of the 2nd, Eun-soo-hyun (Kim Nam-joo), who showed a maternal love on the brink of a cliff by directly punishing the perpetrator who killed her son Gun-woo (Lee Jun), was shown starting a new life in prison while still struggling with the guilt of not being able to protect her child.

Soo-hyun, who directly punished the perpetrator who killed her son, said in her final argument, “I would make the same choice even if I went back again,” and “I do not want leniency,” and began her prison life. She also declared a breakup with her husband Soo-ho (Kim Kang-woo) and refused to contact anyone else.

Soo-ho, who returned as a news anchor, began investigating the case that day. He discovered that the lawyer who defended the perpetrator and the judge in charge of the case were both connected to Kim Jun (Park Hyuk-kwon), a politician he was investigating as a reporter.

In prison, Hyun-ja (Kang Ae-sim), a fellow inmate who was injured on her hand while sewing, approached Soo-hyun and became close to her by doing her laundry for her. Hyun-ja told Soo-hyun that she was the perpetrator of the arson case that was caused by her anger at her husband’s affair, and that an innocent family had died, but one child had survived.

The appearance of Kwon Seon-yul (Cha Eun-woo) conducting a children’s choir that visited the prison was close-up, and curiosity about his identity grew. Seon-yul surprised everyone by working at a junkyard during the day and hiding his true identity as Kim Jun’s minion by handling cases at night.

After her release from prison, Soo-hyun went to Gun-woo’s grave, where he was sleeping, and said, “I’m here, Mom,” and stroked her son’s grave. Soo-hyun, who was sobbing in the rain, suddenly looked up and saw Seon-yul holding an umbrella for her. When Seon-yul asked, “Are you okay?” Soo-hyun said she was okay and turned around, but Seon-yul caught her eye by saying, “I thought Gun-woo would be sad if he saw you.”

“Wonderful World,” which featured the first meeting of the two main characters, Soo-hyun and Seon-yul, recorded its own highest viewership rating.
