BTS Jin, who is the oldest member of BTS, enlisted in the military on December 13, 2022. He is currently serving as an assistant instructor at the boot camp of the Army’s 5th Infantry Division.
Jin will be discharged on June 12, 2024. He is the first member of BTS to enlist in the military.
Other BTS members are also serving in the military.
J-Hope enlisted in the military on April 18, 2023. He is currently serving as an assistant instructor at the 36th Infantry Division’s boot camp.
Suga enlisted in the military on September 10, 2023. He is currently serving as a social service worker.
V and Jungkook enlisted in the military on December 13, 2023. They are currently serving in the 2nd Infantry Division and the 5th Infantry Division, respectively.
BTS is expected to resume full-group activities in 2025.
In a December 2023 interview, Jin said that he was looking forward to returning to BTS and spending time with fans.
“It’s been a year since I enlisted, and there’s still a lot of time left, but I’m already excited to be with you all again,” he said. “And I’m also sad to see our members enlist. I hope time passes quickly so that I can spend good time with my members and ARMY.”
BTS is expected to resume full-group activities in 2025, after all members have completed their military service.
