On August 5th, C9 Entertainment announced its exclusive contract with singer Bae Jin-young has officially terminated as of August 1st, 2024. Consequently, Bae Jin-young will also be departing from the group CIX.
In an official statement, C9 expressed gratitude for Bae Jin-young’s dedicated efforts as a CIX member and wished him the best in his future endeavors. “We would like to thank Bae Jin-young for his hard work as a member of CIX and ask for your continued support as he embarks on a new path,” the agency said.
CIX will continue as a four-member group with BX, Seunghun, Yong-hee, and Hyun-suk. The group is currently preparing for a new album slated for release in the second half of the year, as well as various performances.
Bae Jin-young first gained widespread popularity through Mnet’s survival show “Produce 101 Season 2” in 2017. He subsequently debuted as a member of the project group Wanna One in the same year and enjoyed immense success.
In 2019, he made his debut with CIX and actively promoted with songs such as “Movie Star,” “Cinema,” and “Wave.” However, with his contract with C9 Entertainment coming to an end this year, Bae will be leaving the group after five years.
