Red Velvet’s Wendy, who spent a solid 11 years with SM Entertainment, has just kicked off a new chapter by signing with a fresh agency called ASND.
On the 25th, ASND shared, “We have signed an exclusive contract with Wendy, a member of the group Red Velvet. We are pleased to be working with an artist who has proven outstanding capabilities in various fields.” They also mentioned, “We will actively cooperate with Wendy’s Red Velvet activities. We will do our best to support Wendy, who has put her trust in ASND, so that she can shine even brighter.”
Not long ago, ASND had teased fans with a sneak peek at a new artist joining them through their official social media accounts, building up the excitement.
Wendy made her debut with Red Velvet back in 2014 and has been loved by fans for tons of hit tracks like “Ice Cream Cake,” “Red Flavor,” and “Psycho.”
She kicked off her solo music journey with her first mini-album Like Water in 2021 and followed it up with Wish You Hell, her second mini-album, which dropped in March 2024. On top of that, she’s gained attention for singing on drama OSTs like “Goodbye,” “Because I Love You,” and “My Day Is Full of You.”
Wendy’s also been pretty active outside of music. She was a judge on Mnet’s Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survival and KBS2’s The Tantara. And for a few years now, she’s been the smooth-talking DJ behind SBS Power FM’s Wendy’s Youngstreet.
ASND, where Wendy’s starting this new journey, is also the agency behind Park Ji-won, Baek Ji-heon, Lee Chae-young, Lee Na-gyung, and Song Ha-young — all members of fromis_9.
