MBC Entertainment News is under fire for its recent articles about Jang Won-young of IVE, Sakura of LE SSERAFIM, and Minji of NewJeans.
A netizen in Nate Pann shared screenshots of the articles, which were written by the same male reporter. The netizen pointed out that the titles of the articles were insensitive and made readers feel like the reporter was intentionally mocking the idols’ appearances.
One of the articles was titled “Jang Won-young’s recent photo looks like a different person,” while another was titled “Sakura’s visuals are getting worse.” The third article was titled “Minji’s Kalguksu controversy is getting worse.”
Netizens were outraged by the articles, and many felt that they were bullying and harassing the idols. They pointed out that the reporter should have been more sensitive to the idols’ feelings, especially since they are young and impressionable.
MBC Entertainment News has since apologized for the articles.
