Park Seung-hyun, a well-known health YouTuber with over 800,000 subscribers, has sadly passed away at the age of 35.
On January 6th, his brother shared the heartbreaking news on Park’s Instagram, saying, “My younger brother, Seung-hyun, passed away on January 5th, 2025, at 3:51 PM due to health issues. Given our parents’ immense grief, we kindly request that you refrain from paying your respects at the funeral. Please simply offer your condolences and pray for his peaceful passing.” Along with this message, he posted a portrait of Park.
Park was a big figure in the YouTube world, especially known for his honest conversations about the fitness industry. In 2019, he became widely known when he exposed the common use of steroids in bodybuilding and openly talked about his own struggles with substance abuse. He even admitted to being involved in the illegal sale and use of drugs and ended up receiving a suspended sentence in November 2019. He later expressed his gratitude for getting a second chance at life.
After taking some breaks from creating content, Park came back to YouTube in October of the previous year. In a very personal video, he opened up about his battle with depression and shared, “I’m taking medication prescribed by a psychiatrist. I’m gradually losing my cheerful personality and becoming more like a recluse. I’ve lost many subscribers, and my entire fortune is down to 500,000 won.”
