Lee Si-young is getting a divorce after 8 years of marriage.
On March 17, Lee Si-young’s agency, Ace Factory, shared the news, saying, “The two are in the process of divorce through a mutual and amicable agreement.”
Apparently, Lee Si-young filed for divorce mediation earlier this year at the Seoul Family Court. Her agency added, “As it is a personal matter, we cannot answer any further inquiries.”
On the same day the divorce news came out, Lee Si-young posted on Instagram. She shared some photos from her trip to Paris for Fashion Week, saying, “Goodbye, Eiffel Tower, which is most beautiful at sunset. Let’s meet again later. How wonderful would it be if every day was as peaceful as this with loved ones?”
Lee Si-young married businessman Mr. Jo, who works in the restaurant industry, in September 2017. They had a son just four months later, in January 2018. “Jo” became well-known as “Little Baek Jong-won” for successfully launching several franchise brands.
Lee Si-young, who initially studied fashion design at Dongduk Women’s University, eventually pursued acting and gained recognition for her role as Oh Min Ji in “Boys Over Flowers.” In addition to acting, she’s an accomplished amateur boxer, a sport she took up for a role but grew passionate about, continuing to compete and train. She also appeared on the reality show “Music and Lyrics” with Jay Park and was part of the first season of “We Got Married” with Junjin from Shinhwa.
