Lee Jong-suk recently opened up about how he deals with stress, what kind of roles he connects with, and his thoughts on fans and future plans.
In a PICKterview released by Singles magazine on May 2nd, titled “I Think It’s Gonna Be OUR Year!“, Lee Jong-suk shared some personal insights during a laid-back interview.
When asked what he does on an unexpected day off, he gave a very honest answer: “Unless I’ve completely finished a project, having a day off doesn’t dramatically make me feel relaxed. Because there’s always something on my mind, even if I get a day off, I would probably just sleep well and prepare for the next filming.” Clearly, the man’s all about staying focused and professional.
He also spoke about how he handles stress in his daily life. “I don’t really feel like my stress is relieved by doing any particular action. It’s only when I eat something delicious after a really difficult diet,” he shared. And when it comes to where most stress comes from, he added, “Don’t most of the stresses we get from social life come from relationships? I think those kinds of things naturally disappear when you take a break.”

When the topic shifted to his acting roles, Lee Jong-suk revealed that “I get this question a lot, but my life drama is ‘I Can Hear Your Voice’.” As for which of his characters he relates to the most, he said, “Actually, there isn’t. The character I want to be like is Cha Eun-ho from ‘Romance is a Bonus Book’. I think, ‘I wish I could become that kind of person,’ but there isn’t a character I think I resemble.”
And when it comes to relaxing, he likes to keep things chill with some TV time. “I usually watch dramas and variety shows when I rest. In particular, I watch about two episodes of ‘I am a Natural Person’ before going to bed. It gives me a sense of emotional stability. During that time, programs like ‘I am a Natural Person’ and ‘Korean Cuisine and Dining’ are often on, so I enjoy those kinds of content.”
Before wrapping up, he had a heartfelt message for fans, especially since he’s had a bit of a break from the spotlight. “It wasn’t intentional, but as there has been a bit of a hiatus, I am well aware of how much fans want to see my work soon. I always know how much you wait for me and support me, so I hope to see you all soon.”
Fans don’t have to wait too long though—Lee Jong-suk is set to return in ‘Law and the City’, premiering in July. The drama also stars Moon Ka-young, Kang You-seok, and Ryu Hye-young.
