BLACKPINK Releases New Song “JUMP” After Nearly Three Years
BLACKPINK is officially back with a new track. YG Entertainment announced that their latest song, “JUMP,” will be released today, July 11th, at 1 PM KST. This is the group’s first new music in 2 years and 10 months.
The new song was first performed at their recent “DEADLINE” world tour stop at the Goyang Sports Complex in Gyeonggi Province, held on July 5th and 6th.
“JUMP” Marks a Bold Genre Shift With Hardstyle Sound
“JUMP” is a hardstyle track. It’s got a guitar riff that brings to mind a Western movie scene, and the members’ vocals are layered on top to catch the listener’s ear. The chorus brings a strong, addictive beat. YG said it’s “a bold genre challenge” that’ll “further expand BLACKPINK’s musical spectrum.”

The group worked with longtime collaborators Teddy and 24 on this one, along with several well-known international songwriters and producers.
There’s also a music video, and YG says it’ll show “the perfect synergy of the four members reunited after 2 years and 10 months.” Directed by Grammy-winning Dave Meyers, it features his usual bold, signature style. YG added, “In particular, the music video powerfully expresses the narrative of the group BLACKPINK and their influence through strong visuals, so please look forward to it.”

Following the Goyang concerts, BLACKPINK’s tour moves to Los Angeles for shows on July 12th and 13th. They’ll then continue across 16 cities including Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. The group has a total of 31 stadium-level performances lined up.
