Emotional Oranges Deny Collaboration with NewJeans’ Danielle Amidst Contract Dispute.
Emotional Oranges just cleared the air about those swirling collab rumors with Danielle from NewJeans.
On May 21st, the American R&B duo posted on social media, saying, “There is no collaboration with Danielle. We only helped produce a song for Olivia Marsh,” and added, “We apologize if this caused confusion. It was not our intention.” FYI, Olivia Marsh is Danielle’s older sister.
Things really started heating up on the 19th when Emotional Oranges posted a pic with Danielle. In the photo, she’s sitting in a studio chair, wearing denim jeans, a blue hoodie, and sunglasses. The caption said, “It’s coming soon, please wait a little longer,” along with two emojis — an orange (for Emotional Oranges) and a rabbit (which fans took as a nod to NewJeans).
Naturally, this made people think Danielle might be gearing up for a solo comeback with Emotional Oranges. But nope — turns out it was all a misunderstanding. To shut down the talk even further, they posted a new photo showing both Danielle and Olivia Marsh together.

What’s making this messier is NewJeans’ current legal battle with their agency, ADOR. The group’s been stuck in a contract dispute, and the court has actually barred them from doing solo stuff or other independent activities right now. The original post that sparked the rumors has since been deleted.
NewJeans hasn’t been active since their March concert in Hong Kong. The first trial over the exclusive contract issue already happened, and the members said they don’t plan on going back to ADOR. The next hearing’s coming up on June 5.
