SISTAR’s Soyou revealed that she once suffered from severe panic disorder.
On May 13, Soyou appeared on Shin Dong-yup’s YouTube channel and talked about her past struggles with panic disorder.
In the video titled “Soyo, Dasom EP. 41 Secret SSUL,” host Shin Dong-yup asked Soyou if she had ever experienced anything truly difficult.
Soyou replied, “I had such severe panic disorder that it was really hard. It’s a very sad story for me, but I don’t have any memories of promoting ‘Lean on me.'”
“Lean on me” is a single Soyou collaborated on with Kwon Jeongyeol of 10cm in 2015. Soyou confessed, “I was so intoxicated on panic disorder medication that I have no memories of promoting ‘Lean on me’ at all.”
However, she is now fully recovered. Soyou emphasized, “Now, I’m just trying to enjoy (my activities). That’s why it’s really important to go on a trip once a year. I just put everything down and play and enjoy.”
