Jung Yoo Mi is making waves with her bold performance in the new TV series, Queen Woo. This show is a big step for her, featuring some pretty explicit and intimate scenes.
The series dropped on TVING on Aug 29th. It’s a historical action drama about Queen Woo, who faces a tough situation when the king suddenly dies. With princes and rival tribes all fighting for control, she has just 24 hours to figure out how to keep the throne.
Jung Yoo Mi stars as Woo-sun, the queen’s trusted maid and older sister to Woo Hui, played by Jeon Jong Seo. Her role involves several intimate and explicit scenes, including full nudity, which have caught viewers by surprise. One notable scene even features a same-sex relationship, showing a big shift from her previous roles.
Jung Yoo Mi said that taking on these explicit scenes was challenging, but she felt they were important for the story. “There was some burden, but I felt it was a scene that was essential for the work,” she shared.
Since starting her career with the 2003 films Into the Mirror, The Greatest Expectation, and Silmido, Jung Yoo Mi has gained recognition with roles in dramas like ’Dong Yi, A Thousand Days’ Promise, and Rooftop Prince.’ Her role in Queen Woo shows a new level of courage and versatility in her acting.
