Netflix announced on the 17th that Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun-jin have confirmed their appearances in the Netflix Korean drama ‘The Trunk‘. The drama is based on a novel of the same name and is about a matchmaking organization NM that sets up contract-based marriage life with the spouse one desires.

Gong Yoo takes on the role of Han Jeong Won. Han Jeong-won is a music producer who believes that all marriages in the world are lies. He is a cynical and pessimistic man, scarred by his own marital experience.

Seo Hyun Jin takes on the role of Noh In Ji. Noh In Ji is a NM’s deputy head, a matchmaking company. She is a career oriented woman with no interest in marriage. She is also a bit of a loner and prefers to keep to herself.

Directed by Kim Gyu-tae, known for the dramas ‘Our Blues’ and ‘Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo’, Park Eun-young will be in charge of the script. He is known for works such as the dramas ‘Hwarang’ and ‘Drama Special Series Season 3: Like a Fairytale’.

The Trunk Story Summary

“The Trunk” follows the life of Noh In Ji, head of a matchmaking organization marriage service agency named NM, who fixes the marriage life for clients with their dream partner. And music producer Han Jung Won both disagreed with the idea of marriage… Even though her career revolved around this. But No In Gee prefers to be single. Meanwhile, Han Jung-won is convinced that all marriages are a sham.

The Trunk Release Date

‘Trunk’ will begin filming in the second half of 2023 and will be released on Netflix in 2024. I think they will have great chemistry and I am looking forward to the development of their characters.
