NewJeans has filed an appeal against the court’s order that stopped them from carrying out their own activities.
On the 16th, NewJeans’ legal rep, the law firm Sejong, shared in an official statement, “Today, the court of original jurisdiction for the injunction rendered a decision to uphold the original decision, and we have immediately filed an appeal.”
They added briefly, “We will continue to faithfully engage in the legal proceedings and will do our best to ensure that the facts are clearly established.”
Earlier, on the 21st of last month, the court had approved ADOR‘s request for a preliminary injunction against NewJeans. That was meant to block the members from doing their own thing, like signing ad contracts and stuff, without the agency.
And now, the court’s still sticking to that same decision — keeping NewJeans from going ahead with independent activities.
Here’s the full statement from NewJeans’ legal rep:
Hello, this is the law firm Sejong, legal representatives for Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.
Today, the court of original jurisdiction for the injunction rendered a decision to uphold the original decision, and we have immediately filed an appeal.
We will continue to faithfully engage in the legal proceedings and will do our best to ensure that the facts are clearly established.
Thank you.
