On the May 1st episode of SBS’s Jungle Bob 2, viewers were caught off guard when actress Kim Ok-bin had to make an emergency trip to the hospital due to sudden eye pain.
The cast was traveling to Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, and the drive took about three hours. Most of the group had dozed off in the car, but Kim Ok-bin seemed uncomfortable, rubbing her eyes repeatedly. She looked visibly distressed and asked Ryu Soo-young, “Is there something in my eye?”
Concerned, Ryu Soo-young responded, “Did something get in your eye? Does it feel like something is stuck?” Not long after, Kim started tearing up and said her vision was blurry. Lee Joon, who noticed what was going on, looked confused and asked, “Why is this happening? Is it only one side?” Kim answered, “Both sides.”
Apparently, earlier that day, Kim had used a diving mask solution while they were out at sea. So, the group started wondering if some of that solution had gotten into her eyes.
As her symptoms didn’t seem to be improving, Ryu Soo-young suggested they pull over. “Shall we stop for a moment and wash your eyes?” he asked, and then he stopped the car in a nearby empty lot. Kim rinsed her eyes with water there, but the discomfort didn’t go away. She winced and said, “It stings.”
With no sign of improvement after the rinse, Kim finally decided to head to the hospital. She ended up seeing an eye specialist nearby. A nurse there commented, “It seems like something got into your eye. It should be fine after washing and treatment.”
Thankfully, after some rest and medical care, Kim Ok-bin was able to recover and feel better.
