The image sparked buzz online, as fans noticed he seemed to be holding Khai while enjoying the show. The concert is part of BLACKPINK’s ongoing “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR.”
Malik’s appearance added to the hype around the girl group’s U.S. leg of the tour, especially among Western celebrities and fans of both K-pop and former One Direction members.
Back in 2015, Malik left One Direction, citing “disagreements among members regarding contract renewal and a desire for solo activities.” A year later, the group went on an indefinite hiatus. Malik’s departure marked the beginning of his solo career, while Harry Styles and other members pursued their own paths.
He started dating supermodel Gigi Hadid in the same year. The couple welcomed Khai in 2020, but have since split up. Reports say Hadid is currently raising their daughter.
