A male cast member currently appearing on SBS PLUS and ENA’s “I Am Solo: Love Forever” has been arrested on quasi-rape charges, sparking controversy and disrupting the show’s broadcast schedule.
According to Seoul’s Mapo Police Station, Mr. A was taken into custody in the early morning hours of June 21 in a parking lot in Mapo-gu. He’s suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s while she was unconscious. Authorities issued a warrant following his urgent arrest.
Mr. A, who appeared in both the regular ‘I Am SOLO’ series and its spin-off currently airing, had a major presence in past episodes. The production team’s now scrambling to edit him out completely. They’re cutting his screen time in the upcoming episode airing on the 26th.
Following the news, the “I Am SOLO” production team posted a statement on its official YouTube channel, Chonjang Entertainment.
“We have confirmed via news reports that a court has issued an arrest warrant for cast member Mr. A in relation to the alleged crime. We recognize the seriousness of the matter and will take measures to prevent any discomfort to our viewers.”
Meanwhile, attention’s also on Youngcheol from Season 25, who’s still part of the broadcast. He recently made his Instagram private without any explanation.
Youngcheol drew viewers’ attention for showing interest in Oksoon from Season 17 but later hinted at a developing connection with another woman, suggesting a shift in storyline.
Born in 1990, Youngcheol is 35 years old and a Yonsei University graduate in physical education. He used to play professionally for K League 2’s Bucheon FC and now works as a middle school soccer coach.
During his introduction on the show, he said his hobby is playing the piano and described his ideal type as “a woman with a bright personality,” which caught fans’ interest.
“I Am Solo,” featuring Youngcheol from Season 25, airs Wednesday, the 26th, at 10:30 PM.
