New Role, New Romance? Park Ju-hyun Caught Up in Song Min-ho Dating Buzz
Park Ju-hyun’s been making waves lately—not just for her rising career but also after she got swept into dating rumors with Song Min-ho last December. But she’s been staying busy and proving she’s more than just gossip fodder.
She recently made a splash on the pink carpet at the 8th International Series Festival in April, promoting LG Uplus STUDIO X+U’s upcoming mid-form thriller, Hunter with a Scalpel. It’s set to drop on the 16th via U+tv, U+Mobiletv, and Disney+.
The crime series follows Seo Se-hyun, a forensic doctor who discovers killings that mimic the methods of her long-dead father—an infamous serial killer called ‘The Tailor.’ As the murders escalate, she finds herself caught in a deadly race against detective Jung Jeong Hyeon and realizes she may be the next target.
At the production presentation on the 12th, held at Seoul’s Ramada Hotel Sindorim, Park Ju-hyun joined co-stars Park Yong-woo and Kang Hoon, along with director Lee Jung-hoon, for a media event hosted by Yoo Jae-pil.
Park Ju-hyun plays Seo Se-hyun—a brilliant but sociopathic doctor with a chilling personality and a knack for clashing with others. Speaking on why she picked the role, she shared, “When I first received the script, I felt an immediate freshness. I’ve always liked genre works, and I felt this was a type of drama rarely seen in Korea. The fact that the cruel and frightening scenes were portrayed explicitly without being glorified was very appealing.”
Fans of variety shows might also know her from tvN’s Iron Girls, which aired from September to November last year. She’s confirmed to return for Season 2, premiering next month.
As for her shift into unscripted TV, Park Ju-hyun said, “I’m naturally bright and cheerful, but I haven’t had many opportunities to show my true self while focusing on acting. If given the chance, I’d like to continue doing so.”
Interestingly, she revealed that Iron Girls actually helped her prepare for Hunter with a Scalpel. “‘Hunter with a Scalpel’ was one of the reasons. I don’t think of myself as being particularly sensitive. I thought that doing a triathlon might make me more sensitive and sharp. It seems to have actually worked. It was incredibly tough, and as a result, I became more sensitive and sharp. The feeling of losing weight through exercise is different from just starving. I wanted Se-hyun to have that kind of feeling, so ‘Iron Girls’ helped me a lot.”
