Actress Song Ha-yoon (real name Kim Mi-seon) is once again at the center of controversy as the individual who first accused her of school violence, known as “A,” announced plans to file a countersuit.
On August 21, “A” published a post titled “I am the victim of Song Ha-yoon’s school violence and assault” on an online portal. In the statement, “A” said, “After 12 months with no official response from Song Ha-yoon’s side, they filed a criminal complaint in March 2025. In May, the investigative authorities decided to ‘suspend the investigation’ and ‘suspend the suspect,’ but on July 22, they suddenly labeled me a fugitive and a suspect and filed an additional lawsuit on charges of false accusation.”
According to “A,” the latest legal filing from Song Ha-yoon’s team is retaliation. The accuser added, “I plan to proceed with a systematic legal response to this.”
Dispute Over Forced Transfer Records
“A” argued that administrative agencies confirmed the existence of documents related to forced transfers, which contradicts earlier denials from Song Ha-yoon’s representatives. “If there had been no forced transfer due to school violence, the disposition should have been ‘document non-existence,’” the post claimed.
The accuser also criticized the actress’s law firm, alleging threats and coercion. “The other party not only ignored that good faith but also demanded a ‘public apology with a false confession.’ They also threatened additional legal action if I didn’t comply and ultimately proceeded with the additional lawsuit,” said “A.”
Planned Countersuit Against Song Ha-yoon and Legal Team
“A” announced plans to pursue legal action against Song Ha-yoon for false accusation, defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, defamation with false information under the Criminal Act, and coercion. Additional charges will also target her legal representatives, including defamation as a joint principal, defamation by publication, and violation of the Lawyers’ Code of Ethics.
The statement continued, “From the beginning, I had no intention of dragging this matter into a further dispute. Therefore, even though Song Ha-yoon and her law firm attempted a global social burial by creating a ‘criminal frame’ based on false claims, I even offered an honorable opportunity for a peaceful resolution.”
School Violence Allegations First Raised in 2024
The school bullying controversy began in April 2024, when “A” appeared on JTBC’s Incident Dispatch and claimed to have been assaulted for 90 minutes by Song Ha-yoon during high school in 2004. At that time, her agency King Kong by Starship dismissed the claims, saying, “It is groundless, and they have never met.”
Despite denials, “A” has maintained their stance as a victim. Last month, Song Ha-yoon’s side filed criminal charges against the accuser for defamation and obstruction of business, followed by another lawsuit on August 18 for blackmail and business obstruction.
Actress Currently Inactive
Meanwhile, Song Ha-yoon has suspended her entertainment activities after her exclusive contract with King Kong by Starship expired.
“A” concluded the latest statement by declaring an intention to return to Korea and cooperate with police investigations: “School violence is a structural problem deeply rooted in our society. I want to show the entire response process as detailed and transparently as possible to present a solution to this structural problem. I plan to enter Korea to conclude this case and will faithfully cooperate with the upcoming police investigation.”
