“Yumi’s Cells 3” Confirms Cast Lineup, Premieres in 2026.
On July 3, TVING officially confirmed the cast for the highly anticipated Season 3 of its original series Yumi’s Cells (written by Song Jae-jung and Kim Kyung-ran, directed by Lee Sang-yeob), set to premiere in 2026.

Kim Go-eun Returns as Yumi
Returning lead Kim Go-eun will reprise her role as Yumi, now a successful star writer. She’s expected to bring back her signature performance as Yumi, who’s still trying to figure out love while managing a career. “Yumi’s Cells 3” continues to follow Yumi and her inner world of animated cells, known for caring only about her.
Kim Jae-won Joins as Sun Rok, Yumi’s New PD
Kim Jae-won joins the cast as Sun Rok, a new character expected to shake up the storyline. He’s a PD at Julie Literature, known for his “fact bomb” delivery and rational cell mindset. When he gets assigned to handle writer Yumi, his interactions with her, who’s ruled by emotion, lead to unpredictable turns. His chemistry with Kim Go-eun is drawing attention, especially for the older woman-younger man dynamic.
Returning Supporting Cast Members
Actors Jeon Seok-ho and Mi Ram are also back. Jeon returns as Ahn Dae-yong, the editor-in-chief who helped Yumi debut as a writer, while Mi Ram once again plays Ida, Yumi’s supportive friend and Ahn Dae-yong’s wife.
New cast members include Choi Daniel as Kim Ju-ho, a top writer under Sun Rok’s charge. He’s a new addition not featured in the original webtoon, known for his extroverted personality that contrasts with Sun Rok’s logical vibe. Cho Hye-jung joins as Baek Na-hee, Yumi’s cheerful assistant writer. Park Se-in plays Jang PD, Yumi’s producer, who adds realism to her work life.
The show, praised for blending live-action and 3D animation—a first in Korean dramas—has gained long-lasting popularity since its debut. It portrays Yumi’s ordinary life and relationships in a straightforward yet entertaining way.

Returning Characters Confirmed for Special Appearances
Also grabbing attention are special appearances by past cast. Sung Ji-ru returns as Kim Man-sik, Yumi’s father, while Lee Yoo-bi comes back as Lee Ruby with her signature playful personality.
“Yumi’s Cells 3” is expected to build on the show’s success, continuing the growth and love journey of Yumi and her cell village.
