On the 2nd, Cha Joo-young’s agency, Ghost Studio, officially stated to OSEN, “Cha Joo-young has received an offer to appear in ‘Who Are You’ and is currently reviewing it.”
The drama, ‘Who Are You,’ is set to be a 12-episode romantic comedy that follows Lee Tae-joo, a black agent who’s lost his memory, and Yoo Ah-rin, a national sweetheart who’s lost her love. Together, they try to find their true memories—and maybe real love along the way.
Joo-young’s been offered the lead role of Yoo Ah-rin, who’s not only a super popular actress whose projects always blow up but also happens to be the daughter of a top presidential candidate from the main opposition party. Sounds like drama on-screen and off!
She first made her debut back in 2016 with tvN’s ‘Cheese in the Trap’, and since then, she’s popped up in dramas like ‘Jugglers,’ ‘Wok of Love,’ ‘Again My Life,’ and ‘The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop.’
But it was her chilling role as Choi Hye-jeong—a school violence bully in Netflix’s ‘The Glory’—that really made people take notice. Most recently, she took the spotlight with her first-ever main lead role in tvN’s ‘The Queen Who Crowns’, earning a lot of praise for her performance.
With the offer for ‘Who Are You’ on the table, fans are excited to see if she’ll dive into rom-com for the first time and maybe even become a full-on romantic comedy queen.
For now, there’s no official word on when the show will air—but if she says yes, it’s definitely one to watch.
