Lee Hyo-ri & Lee Sang-soon Quietly Drop 3 Tons of Love for Abandoned Animals
On May 25th, the animal support group “gonggil2” shared some sweet news on their official account. They revealed that the couple had made a generous donation of pet food after shooting an ad. The post read, “Does anyone know the best praise in the universe? Lee Hyo-ri and Lee Sang-soon, who are incredibly thankful, grateful, touching, cool, beautiful, and lovely, filmed a Market Kurly (advertisement) and launched a huge flame of love with Natural Balance.”
This time, the couple donated a whopping 600 bags of 5kg pet food, splitting it up into 150 bags for four abandoned animal shelters. That’s a total of 3,000kg—or 3 tons—of food. Yep, huge.

The group added, “Isn’t it enormous? What is this feeling like my stomach is already full and incredibly healthy! I want to give them a cheer!”
Not long ago, Hyori had also posted pics and videos of herself doing hands-on volunteer work at a shelter for abandoned dogs in Anseong. In the video, she showed off the dogs and wished out loud that they’d all find loving homes. She and Lee Sang-soon even donated 2 tons of pet food to the shelter together.
During a live broadcast that same day, she shared, “Since I moved to Seoul, I’ll come more often,” and introduced some of the dogs and cats there, saying, “These kids are really pretty. They love people, so I hope they get adopted.” Dressed in comfy work clothes, she cleaned, fed, and did what she always does—pitch in quietly with a whole lot of heart.
The couple recently moved to Seoul after living on Jeju Island for 11 years following their 2013 marriage. Their new spot’s a detached house in Pyeongchang-dong, Jongno-gu, which they reportedly bought in full with around 6 billion won in cash.
Oh, and that’s not all—they also donated 200 million won ($143K) to the Beautiful Foundation to help young people who are getting ready to live independently.
Whether it’s big donations or low-key shelter visits, Lee Hyo-ri and Lee Sang-soon just keep doing good—and doing it their way.
