KBS2’s upcoming weekend K-drama, “Iron Family (2024),” set to premiere in September, is a romantic, comedic black comedy that revolves around the ‘Cheongryeom Laundry’ family, who iron money instead of clothes.
Previously released stills of Kim Jung-hyun (as Seo Gang-ju), Geum Sae-rok (as Lee Da-rim), and Choi Tae-joon (as Cha Tae-Ung) have already piqued viewers’ interest.
On August 16th, newly released stills featuring Yang Hye-ji as the transformed designer Lee Cha-rim have captured attention. Adorned with an employee badge and a sharp gaze, she exudes the aura of a career woman.
In the drama, Yang Hye-ji takes on the role of Lee Cha-rim, the second daughter of the Cheongryeom Laundry. As a member of the MZ generation, Cha-rim is the renowned beauty of Cheongryeom-dong and works as a designer at Ji Seung Group. Her passion for work and outstanding abilities make her the undisputed ace within the company.
Having sacrificed for her visually impaired younger sister, Lee Da-rim, since childhood, Cha-rim sometimes reveals a selfish side. While she tenderly helps Da-rim by holding her cane, she also grapples with the issue of funding Da-rim’s eye surgery, raising curiosity about the complex relationship between the two sisters.
The chemistry between the actors is also worth watching. Yang Hye-ji will showcase various charms as she bickers with her boss, Kim Jung-hyun, shares a love-hate relationship with her sister, Geum Sae-rok, and develops a connection with Choi Tae-joon. Expectations are high for her portrayal of Lee Cha-rim, a character with deep-rooted childhood affection deprivation.
“Iron Family” is set to premiere in September, following the conclusion of “Beauty and Mr. Romantic.”
