Nana showed up at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards on May 5th looking absolutely stunning — and with one major change. Her once-noticeable tattoos across her chest were totally gone. Dressed in an elegant outfit that showed off her décolletage, Nana drew attention not just for her style but for the fact that her signature ink had vanished.
This awards ceremony, held at COEX D Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, was hosted by Shin Dong-yup, Suzy, and Park Bo-gum. It was aired live on JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4 and streamed online through Prism, Naver TV, and Chzzk.
She arrived with Ahn Hyo-seop to present the award in the Arts category and was spotted looking around for Suzy. Fans and viewers immediately noticed that the elaborate body art she once flaunted was no longer there.
Back when she attended the press conference for the movie Confession, Nana shocked fans by showing up with tattoos all over her body. That stirred up a ton of talk online — some folks thought the tattoos were just for the role, while others assumed they were permanent. Nana later cleared the air at another public event, saying plainly, “I did it because I wanted to.”
More recently though, the tattoos on her arms have been fading. She explained the reason during a YouTube broadcast, saying, “My mom said she wanted to see my clean body, so I’m getting them removed.”
Nana originally debuted in 2009 with the girl group After School and their song Because of You. She was also active in sub-units like Orange Caramel and After School Red. These days, she’s been busy acting, most recently starring in the Netflix series Mask Girl.
