Kim Ji-seok’s Girlfriend Lee Ju-myung Meets His Parents, Father Hopes for Marriage Soon
Actor Kim Ji-seok is back in the spotlight, this time for personal reasons. It’s now public that he introduced his girlfriend, actress Lee Ju-myung, to his parents—causing quite a stir, especially given their 12-year age gap.
In a preview clip from MBN’s Dongchimi episode 654, aired on June 18, Kim Ji-seok’s father, Kim On-yang, opened up about his second son’s love life. “One day, he told me he had a girlfriend (Lee Ju-myung). I wondered when he would bring her over, and then he introduced her,” he shared.

“When my son comes home, I ask him about his girlfriend. If I say, ‘Just bring a girl over, I’ll coach her,’ he gets stressed and says, ‘If you’re going to talk about that, I won’t come home.’ Even if I say, ‘If you just get married, I’ll give you a lot of congratulatory money,’ he tells me not to talk like that, saying, ‘I’m a non-maritalist.’ I was worried because he even joked about being non-marital,” he revealed, showing a bit of frustration.
Kim On-yang, head of the AHA Family Growth Research Institute, also mentioned, “On the day I met Lee Ju-myung, I gave them a personality test and relationship coaching. It turned out they have a 12-year age difference, which means there’s a generation gap and communication might not be smooth.”
He didn’t hide his hopes for a wedding anytime soon. “I want him to get married quickly now that he has a girlfriend, but he says he has to be patient because if his girlfriend, who’s just starting out as an actress, gets married, it would hinder her future. I’m relieved he has a girlfriend now, but I still wonder when he’ll show me a grandchild.”
Reflecting on his initial meeting with Lee Ju-myung, Kim On-yang said, “It was amazing, and I felt relieved. I only wanted to treat her well. Since my eldest son got married and immediately moved to Hong Kong, I hardly had the chance to have a close relationship with my daughter-in-law. There were many regrets.”
The actor’s dad didn’t hold back while sharing his thoughts. “Among my three sons, my eldest son got married at 30 and had a grandchild right away, which is wonderful to see. However, my second son (Kim Ji-seok), being an actor, said he would lose fans if he married early. I understood it somewhat until he was 35, but now he’s over 40. If Kim Ji-seok marries and has children now, there will be a significant age difference between his children and his nephews and nieces. Won’t it be difficult for cousins to grow up together?”
Kim Ji-seok and Lee Ju-myung went public with their relationship in August last year. Not long after, she made headlines again by signing with Alien Company, the same agency Kim Ji-seok is signed to.
