King the Land

King the Land was the top non-English language TV show on Netflix from June 26 to July 2, 2023. The show had 4 million personal legal views on Netflix alone during that time. It also topped the charts in seven countries: Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam.

King the Land reached 5th in the worldwide viewing rankings on Netflix on July 4, 2023, just one day after its release.

‘King the Land’ tells the story of Gu-Gu (Lee Jun-Ho), a man who can’t stop laughing, and Cheon-Rang (Im Yoon-A), a woman who always smiles. The two characters are polar opposites, but they are drawn to each other nonetheless.

Gu Won is the heir to King Group, a powerful conglomerate. He is intelligent, charismatic and ruthless. With no time to laugh or be flippant, he decides to take over the royal group and become the next king.

Cheon Sa Rang is a nice and kind woman who works as a hotelier. She is always smiling in the face of her adversity. She is drawn to Salvation’s strength and determination, but is also wary of his coldness and ruthlessness.

As the two characters get to know each other, they begin to fall in love. However, their relationship becomes complicated due to the ambition of redemption and the idealism of Cheon Sa Rang. They will have to overcome many obstacles to come together.
