Ju Ji-hoon snagged the Best Actor Award in the television category at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards, held on the afternoon of May 5th at COEX D Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The event was hosted by Shin Dong-yup, Suzy, and Park Bo-gum.
This year, the Baeksang Awards considered works released across terrestrial TV, general programming, cable, OTT, and even web platforms, plus theater performances staged from last April through this March. Judging was based on a preliminary survey of 60 expert committee members for each field.
Ju Ji-hoon won for his powerful role in The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, beating out a strong lineup that included Han Suk-kyu, Park Bo-gum, Byun Woo-seok, and Lee Joon-hyuk.
When he accepted the award, Ju Ji-hoon humbly said,
“I am most grateful to the viewers who enjoyed and supported our work. As I have witnessed at the Baeksang Arts Awards, with each project, I keenly feel that it is impossible to do this alone without colleagues,” and he made sure to thank the staff behind the scenes.
He also shared a quick update on what’s next, saying,
“I am currently filming another project as an actor. I will come back to you with a work that communicates.”
