“Squid Game” Season 3 Set to Release Globally on June 27th.
Netflix’s hit show “Squid Game” is wrapping up with its third and final season. On June 27th at 4:00 PM KST, Season 3 will release all six episodes at once in over 190 countries.
The new season follows right after Season 2’s ending. Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) failed to rebel and is now full of guilt and anger over losing his comrades. He’s not staying passive this time and wants to take down the true nature of the games, which he now calls a “destroyer.”
The biggest face-off will be between Seong Gi-hun and the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who’s now back as the game’s operator. “Do you still believe in people?” he asks Gi-hun — showing how different their worldviews are. One believes in justice and humanity, while the other is a harsh enforcer of a brutal system.
The games themselves are getting even bigger. The official trailer showed new survival challenges, like a group tug-of-war. Plus, Young-hee’s partner, Cheol-su, is gonna appear too, which raises questions about where the story’s headed.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk talked about the new season in a recent interview with the Associated Press. After the backlash he got for Season 2, he said, “I’m afraid to talk. It’s set 10 to 20 years in the future.” He also added, “It will be a very cruel and sad but quite bizarre and humorous work.” Then he ended with, “Season 3 is better than Season 2.”
Another major storyline will involve the Front Man’s brother, Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun), who went missing back in Season 1. His return is expected to play a key part.
Season 3’s theme centers around a fierce struggle between survival and justice, and between raw power and human values.
