Just a week after tying the knot with actress Im Seong-eon, her new hubby is already at the center of a huge controversy. Netizens claiming to be past victims are flooding online communities and social media, raising suspicions that he’s actually a con artist.
Before all this blew up, Im Seong-eon had her wedding on the 17th at the fancy JW Marriott Hotel in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. The couple went to Jeju Island for their honeymoon, but it’s now being claimed that Mr. A’s under a travel ban and can’t leave the country.
Dispatch reported on the 26th that Mr. A—Im Seong-eon’s husband—is actually a three-time convicted fraudster. They said he misused around 20 billion won (14 million USD) by bringing people in under the pretense of running regional housing cooperative projects. He’s now being investigated and on trial for a list of charges, including fraud, embezzlement, breach of trust, obstruction of business, and hiding assets.
“Mr. A conducted regional housing projects in a total of six areas: Osan in Gyeonggi, Osong in Chungbuk, Jiksan in Cheonan, Beomeo in Daegu, Doan in Daejeon, and Innovation City in Gimcheon,” Dispatch revealed. They added, “None of them proceeded properly, and he is facing 10 billion won (7 million USD) lawsuits in two of those locations.”
People aren’t holding back. Angry netizens are flooding Im Seong-eon’s social media, demanding answers. Instead of responding, she’s just been deleting comments—only fueling more public outrage.
